In response to a request from Africa at WGRI3 for more information on the GDM 2010 Initiative, the Inititiative met with the Africa Group in Geneva in early September. The presentation on the GDM was the first item on the agenda of the weekly coordination meeting of the Group. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Boometswe Mokgothu, Ambassador of Botswana and President of the African Group in Geneva, and was attended by over 30 African ambassadors and high-level delegates.
It was clear from the consultation that further dicussion on the GDM will be needed to ensure that its design and implementation support the sustainable development aspirations and priorities of Africa.
