Earthmind, on behalf of the Government of the Netherlands, hosted a High-level Roundtable Lunch for select country missions to build support for the GDM in the context of biodiversity policy processes leading up to the CBD COP10 in October. Participants included ambassadors from China, India and Mexico, as well as senior country representatives. This private roundtable discussion took place during the lunch break of the Geneva Trade and Biodiversity Day, organised by ICTSD and UNEP.
The lunch provided an opportunity to brief government trade and development representatives on the GDM and its implications for the trade and sustainable development agenda. It also provided an opportunity to explore whether the GDM could be presented at the High-level UN General Assembly event on the International Year of Biodiversity, scheduled for 22 September.
