Boosting investments in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services

Nyenrode Business University, IUCN NL and ECNC hosted an international working conference which focused on stimulating investments that support biodiversity conservation.
At a breakfast meeting on the second day, Francis Vorhies introduced the possibility of establishing a green development mechanism under the CBD which could be based on promoting biodiversity responsibility on the part of both suppliers of green development and demanders of green development. The subsequent discussion explored the critical issue of verifying net positive biodiversity impacts.
