The GDM 2010 Initiative
The GDM 2010 Initiative was launched in the 3rd quarter of 2009 in response to a growing interest to develop an innovative market-based green development financial mechanism under the CBD. The Initiative is supported by funding from the Government of the Nethelands and expert guidance from an international steering committee
Its aim is to achieve a significant level of support for the design and establishment of a gdm from the Parties to the CBD and other interested stakeholders, and commitment from the CBD Parties demonstrated by a decision for its follow up at the 10th Conference of the Parties in October 2010 in Nagoya, Japan.
